On September 24 the Allahabad High Court is expected to give a judgment in controversial Babri Masjid Demolition case, and it has given film makers cold jitters. Two of the mega budget movies, “Robot” and “Anjaana Anjaani” earlier scheduled for released this Friday, have been postponed to October 1, 2010.

The comedy- romantic flick “Anjaana Anjaani” now will hit theatres on 1st October instead of 24th September. The main reason given is the Ayodhya verdict which will be declared on 24th September. Gossip sources report that the film’s hero Ranbir Kapoor had a talk with the producers on this serious issue and the Babri Masjid Demolition case verdict should be respected and it is not wise to release the film on a date to clash with it. The director Siddharth Anand said that he doesn’t want to risk the film’s release and it won’t be a big deal if it is delayed by a week. The film took about a year to produce and surely the producers do not want to risk its fate at the box-office by clashing with Ayodhya-Babri Masjid cases.

Anjaana Anjaani, directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala (under his Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd banner) and Sharan Kapoor (under his IBC Motion Pictures banner) features Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Zayed Khan. The film’s music is by Vishal-Shekhar and cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran.

The romantic comedy film is about Kiara (Priyanka Chopra), based in San Francisco, while Akash (Ranbir Kapoor) is a New York City boy, both trying to find luck after several failures in their careers and in love lives. Both are fed up and they decide to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge (Brooklyn Bridge? Remember the poem by American poet Carl Sandberg?), and they land up on the same bridge at the same time, when instead of killing himself, Akash stops Kiara from jumping and tells her to travel with him to Las Vegas, the sin capital of the world, to make it big (from gambling?).
