Miss World 2010 Part 12 : The First Half of The Journey


Miss World is not only about being hot and beautiful. Out of all the big pageants in the world, Miss World is famous for its exciting, fun, and educative activities. For about a month, the contestants were brought to experience a great adventure and this year is of course a no exception. Let's take a look back at the journey of these 115 beautiful girls, starting from their arrival in Beijing, all in here!

1-2 October : Arrivals
The 115 contestants started their journey this year from the capital city, Beijing. Here is some arrival pics of Miss World 2010 contestants!






3-5 October : Beijing Tour
During their stay in Beijing, the contestants were taken to visit The Badachu, which is a complex of monasteries located in the outskirts of the city. They also visited two historical Chinese landmarks, one from the past and one from the present, The Great Wall and The National Stadium.








6-8 October 2010 : Ordos Tour
The contestants visited Ordos, a stunning city located in the middle of Inner Mongolia desert. While in Ordos, they were welcomed by a Gala Dinner held in a Mongolian tent. They also visited the mausoleum of the famous Genghis Khan and learned the history, culture, and daily life of Inner Mongolian nomadic people.









9-11 October 2010 : Shanghai Tour

Aside from boat tour at Huangpu River and lunch at Yu Garden, the main activity of the contestants while visiting Shanghai is of course, the infamous Shanghai EXPO. The annual Miss World charity night was also held in this city, with $264,542 raised at the charity auction. In addition, some contestants were invited in Culture Forum, where they addressed many important issues concerning today’s multicultural society.









11-12 October : Sanya Welcome and Parade
As soon as their arrival in Sanya, the contestants were taken to participate in a Street Parade, eld simultaneously with the start of the Tour de Hainan (cycling race). After the parade, the contestants attended a welcome reception at the Crowne Plaza, attended by the hotel management. Later they also attended a Gala Dinner hosted by Sanya government dignitaries.







16 October 2010 : Relief Project

Some chosen contestants along with Miss World 2009 Kaiane Aldorino ook much needed aid relief to some of the people most affected by the recent rainfall on Hainan island. The contestants visited the grief-stricken town of Yinggen, the third largest area in the Hainan province, said to be the poorest region, with a population of just 216,000. ogether they started the distribution of ten tonnes of rice and five tonnes of cooking oil to some of the families and individuals most affected.
